Processes

Start and connectivity handling

Start

The process for starting a device adapter should be as follows:

Adapter-Start

💡When using an SDK, this process is already handled.

Object Connectivity

Each Object has special States and Events which do not need to be explicitly defined in the object model:

Id State/Event Description
@connected State true: Object is functional (connection to the system established, Object exists in the system, States are received …)
false (default): Object is not functional (disconnected, Object does not exist in the system, …)
@connectionfault Event In most cases this Event should be set on Node objects to indicate a connection fault. This is the only Event which is handled if @connected is false.
@unsynced State true: Object is unsynced (Object still needs synchronization and the States and Events are not valid yet)
false (default): Object is synced (all Atates and Events are valid)

💡The SDKs offer methods to simplify the usage of these States and Events.
